In this section, we will tell you how and why the Great Pyrenees appeared in our family, why we adore this breed, and give brief characteristics of each of our dogs. Let’s talk about their life with us and of course here you can see a lot of photos and videos of our dogs. Enjoy!
Our acquaintance with this amazing dog breed happened in 2017. At that time, we lived in Iowa and had a livestock farm, Wagyu cattle, sheep, goats, pigs.
For the protection of animals, we needed good guard dogs, but it was also important for us that the dogs did not have aggression towards other members of our family.
Our choice was the Great Pyrenees.
These are smart and sensitive companions and guards, considering the human family as their own flock, which allows animals to quickly and without unnecessary stress accept the rules of the game dictated by the owner.
Ownership habits and territorial claims of the Great Pyrenees in no way infringe on the rights and freedoms of other domestic animals. The breed is not averse to sharing its habitat with cats, other dogs, and especially artiodactyls, which are in such need of a powerful protector.
All these factors were very important to us, because in addition to the animals on the farm, we had a pug, two Shih Tzu and several cats.
And gradually 8 Pyrs entered in our family.
Feydor and Alma
Alma and Feydor were the first in our family. Both puppies were brought from large livestock farms where their parents guarded large herds of sheep.
Feydor is a very large (180 pounds) and handsome male with a proud and independent character. Alma has a very kind and gentle nature.
In our family, Feydor’s main charge is a 5lb Shi-tzu, Margeaux. And in this duet Margeaux and Feydor. Margeaux is Boss. Lol.
If your family has a small dog, then be sure Pyr will definitely make friends with her and begin to patronize her.
We had a litter of 12 healthy puppies from a couple Feydor and Alma.
Dina
Her full name is Bright Sun Dina.
We brought Dina from the state of North Dakota from a livestock farm at the age of 8 weeks.
Dina is incredibly smart, proud, beautiful, very friendly and most importantly, she is an amazing mom.
Shiba
The story of the appearance of Shiba in our family is very sad and, unfortunately, very common. But this story has a happy ending for us and for Shiba.
We adopted a Shiba from a shelter. We received a call from the orphanage and were told that a girl, Pyr, had been brought to them.
I don’t remember exactly how much my husband and I thought, it was very fast, the decision was made by us instantly. With one voice, we said that we would take her into our family.

She was a very thin, frightened and sad child. I even dread to think how she was treated by her former owners. But we believed that everything would be good with us.
Look at Shiba, what she has become in three months!
She is happy, she is healthy and she is smiling!
There is only one cure – it is love, a lot of love and care.
Shiba is incredibly devoted to us, she is a joyful and playful girl.
But I noticed one thing, in her eyes there is always the same question: “Won’t you give me to anyone? Am I forever with you? Please don’t give it up!”
Four years have passed since the appearance of Shiba in our family, but her fear of human betrayal has not gone away.
We won’t give you up, Shiba. Never and no one.
The Shiba & Teddy couple had a beautiful healthy litter of 10 puppies.
Teddy
Teddy’s full name is Valiant Knight Odin. But it so happened that the mischievous little puppy did not like the name Odin.
He told us: “I am a small fluffy bear cub and my name is Teddy!” lol.
Teddy is from Minnesota, from a livestock farm and entered our family when he was 8 weeks old.
Teddy is an amazing dog! Smart, infinitely kind, beautiful, affectionate and proud male.
And he is an amazing father!
You will smile, but this is true, he watched and guarded each of his offspring. He is always with the puppies.
This once again confirms the purpose of this breed. Pyr is Dog Guardian, protector and companion.
Josie
Full name – Golden Rose Josie

Our beautiful Josie, our baby. Our pride.
Very gentle, obedient and kind girl.
Archi
Full name: Sun Dance Archibald
Archie came into our family from a large livestock farm in Missouri.
A lovely boy with a kind and cheerful character.
Lumi
Full name: Sunny Smile Lumi
Lumi is the youngest member of our large Pyr family.
She is Teddy’s daughter and she is still a teenager.
Very bright, cheerful and beautiful girl.
Our farm is located in an ecologically clean area on the banks of the Sacramento River in Northern California.
Protected nature, fresh air and clean water – this is the atmosphere in which our dogs live.
Our farm is 24 acres, fully fenced and given over to dogs and puppies.
Newborn puppies, having opened their eyes and stood on their legs, do not sit locked up, but immediately begin to explore the world around them.
The stock of health that puppies receive in the first months after birth remains with them for life.
Also, our dogs have their own house with large spacious enclosures.
Their house is equipped with air conditioning and a heater.
Room cooling is very important in the hot climate of California. Our summer is long and the air temperature can reach 110 degrees.
Our dogs are members of our family and they are also frequent guests in our own home.
Sometimes we think that we are the guests and they are the owners. Lol
In our opinion, LOVE and CARE for your dogs is the main thing in the life of a breeder.
Regular veterinary examinations and laboratory tests, vaccinations, premium quality food, natural products, a large fenced-in private area for walking and exercise, all this makes our dogs’ lives healthy and happy.
We love and cherish each of them very much and they reciprocate to us.
The ocean of love, devotion and positive is what our dogs give us every day.
Our hearts are FOREVER given to this incredibly beautiful breed of dogs GREAT PYRENEES.
